Two-Story Stucco Home Exterior Repaint in DeLand, FL
Atlantic Finish recently completed a full exterior repaint of this beautiful two-story stucco home located in a DeLand homeowners association (HOA). The homeowners wanted to completely refresh the appearance of their home while complying with their HOA's architectural requirements.
During our initial consultation, the homeowners selected three Benjamin Moore colors for their project. Since we exclusively use premium Sherwin-Williams coatings, we worked closely with our local Sherwin-Williams representative to create three custom color matches. Once the custom colors were produced, they were submitted to the HOA and approved before work began, ensuring the homeowners received the exact look they wanted without compromising paint quality.
Thorough Surface Preparation
Every successful exterior repaint begins with proper preparation. Before applying any paint, we thoroughly pressure washed the home's exterior to remove dirt, mildew, and loose contaminants. The soffits were carefully soft washed using eco-friendly cleaning solutions to safely eliminate organic growth without damaging the surfaces.
After cleaning, we inspected the entire home and sealed all visible stucco cracks to help prevent moisture intrusion and create a smooth, professional finish.
Working Within an HOA Community
Painting homes in HOA neighborhoods requires additional planning and attention to detail. The neighboring homes were positioned very close together, making it essential to protect surrounding properties throughout the project.
Our team used professional spray techniques while carefully controlling overspray to ensure no paint drift reached neighboring homes, landscaping, vehicles, or property. In several narrow side yards, traditional ladder placement wasn't possible due to the limited space between homes. To safely complete these difficult areas, we used long extension rollers to maintain a consistent finish without sacrificing quality or safety.
Priming for Long-Term Durability
Proper priming is one of the most important steps in achieving a long-lasting exterior finish.
All exposed metal surfaces were primed using Sherwin-Williams Pro Industrial Universal Metal Primer before receiving their finish coats.
The garage door and metal fascia were also professionally primed before being finished with two coats of Sherwin-Williams Pro Industrial Direct-to-Metal (DTM) coating for exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
